Dr Peter Hanson
All areas of gastroenterology including IBS, Crohns and colitis, dyspepsia, hepatic, biliary, pancreatic and small bowel disorders. I practice diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and ERCP, and video capsule enteroscopy.
Dr Hanson trained at Cambridge University (Medical Sciences Tripos) and Westminster Medical School (MB,BS) and graduated in 1982. He was awarded a Doctorate by Cambridge in 1982 and Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in 1998. Appointed Consultant Physician and Gastroenterelogist to the Swindon & Marlborough NHS Trust in 1993; Associate Academy Medical Dean 2005: Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Gastroenterology at Oxford University in 2007 and Associate Professor, St Georges University School of Medicine 1994. He is also an Examiner for the Royal College of Physicians.
Research and Publications: 21 academic papers in peer-reviewed journals; 31 presentations/abstracts to learned societies; 8 editorials in journals and chapters in text books.
Personal Interests: In his personal time Dr Hanson enjoys sailing yachts, keeping pigs and chickens, training dogs, playing tennis and taking country walks.
