Tanaji Dasgupta Consultant Nephrologist
Dr Dasgupta graduated in medicine in 1998. After general medical training, he went on to train in Renal Medicine, completing his specialist training in the Midlands and then in the Oxford Deanery, between 2003 and 2009. Between 2006 and 2009, he undertook research as a clinical research fellow at the University of Oxford for the SHARP (Study of Heart and Renal Protection) Study. In 2011, Dr Dasgupta was appointed as an NHS consultant in Renal Medicine at the Great Western Hospital Foundation Trust to lead provision of renal services for patients in Swindon and Wiltshire by the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and the Oxford Kidney Unit. Dr Dasgupta has established an inpatient consult service for patients with renal disease at patients at Great Western Hospital and also provides clinical care for patients with chronic kidney disease, dialysis and transplantation in the outpatient setting. He is the Project Lead for Acute Kidney Injury for Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Dasgupta has also been engaged in undergraduate medical teaching since 2011 and is an honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer for the University of Oxford. In 2015, he was elected fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
