Hannah Coleman Gastroenterology Specialist Dietitian
Qualified with a first class Honours BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and a full member of the British Dietetic Association,
Hannah combines full-time NHS employment as a specialist gastroenterology dietitian with private practice. She has particular expertise in gastrointestinal conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and coeliac disease, having worked in multiple NHS trusts, including University Hospitals Southampton, which is a major centre for gastroenterology.
Hannah also has expertise in nutrition in liver disease, malnutrition, malabsorptive conditions and weight management and takes a particular interest in supporting people with mental health conditions such as depression. She feels it is particularly important to look at the management of any condition in a holistic way, including discussions around stress, anxiety and sleep and their impact on symptoms as well as the impact of diet.
She is passionate about working with people to improve their health and quality of life through diet and lifestyle and provides clear, personalised and up-to-date advice in all things nutrition. Sometimes it’s very small changes that can make the most significant improvements to a person's symptoms and therefore their quality of life.
Outside of work Hannah is an avid mountain biker, runner and ultimate frisbee player. She lives on an arable farm, particularly concerned with environmental and ecosystem conservation. Weekends often involve helping out with farm jobs, especially at apple harvesting time when the apple juice and cider needs to be pressed and bottled whatever the weather!
