David Griffiths Consultant Gynaecologist

Mr David Griffiths is the senior Gynaecologist at the Great Western Hospital with over twenty years of consultant experience.

After graduating from Leicester Medical School in 1987 he worked at various teaching hospitals in the Midlands. In 1995, he was awarded a Fellowship to Harvard Medical School, Boston USA. Before returning to the UK he also spent time at the Center for Endometriosis in Atlanta and various hospitals in New Zealand.

Recommended for his approachable manner and communication skills, Mr Griffiths values a personal holistic approach to your care in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Specialist interests: Period problems, Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain. Menopause problems and HRT, Painful sex, Polycystic ovaries, Prolapse, Urinary Incontinence. Cervical and ovarian screening. Cosmetic gynaecology. Advanced Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic Surgery.

Mr Griffiths is a recognised BMS Menopause Specialist.

Surgical experience: Performing over 500 operations a year most procedures are undertaken by keyhole surgery to allow an earlier return to normal activities. Mr Griffiths is a recognized laparoscopic trainer for the University of Surrey.

Mr. Griffiths is the Medical Director of The Hysterectomy Centre and is one the few centres in the country to offer the revolutionary non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation treatment (ThermiVa).

He has published numerous papers and written chapters in various textbooks. During his training he won many awards and grants both in the USA and UK.
